PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage both high definition image transmission and high efficient image transmission by transmitting image data of plural pictures to a receiving end and transmitting high definition information of a picture that is requested from the receiving end among plural images in a transmission method that is different from the transmission method of moving image data. SOLUTION: A high definition information retrieving circuit 116 retrieves a recording medium 101 according to a frame identification ID, reads high definition information of an image frame that corresponds to frame identification ID information and stores it in a buffer memory 117. A high definition information sending circuit 115 sends high definition information stored in the memory 117 to a receiving end when retrieval succeeds after sending the result of retrieval front a data transmitting and receiving circuit 103. A data transmitting and receiving circuit 106 receives it and supplies it to a high definition image reproducing circuit 118. The circuit 118 reads a moving image data block from a buffer memory 113, performs expansion decoding processing of it together with received high definition information and reproduces a high definition image frame. |
