The probe is assembled from a number of non-conducting (1, 2, 3) and conducting (4, 5) modules, all made from ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), but with the conducting modules having a non-toxic and non-allergenic metal covering. The probe has a hollow protrusion at its proximal end for connecting a cable linked to a stimulation apparatus, and between the two conducting rings it has a balloon for measuring intra-cavity muscle pressure, inflated through a central duct. In a variant of the design, the probe can have four electrodes to permit electrical stimulation and recording at the same time.
