PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting device which is restrained from deteriorating in light extraction efficiency due to an electrode provided in it and capable of correcting an irregular emission of light emission due to that an electrode pattern gets-out of position. SOLUTION: Certain conductivity-type semiconductor layers 3 are formed like islands on a substrate 1, an intrinsic semiconductor layer 4 is provided in each of the certain conductivity-type semiconductor layers 3, a reverse conductivity-type semiconductor region 5 is formed like a belt nearly at the center of the intrinsic semiconductor layer 4 in the depthwise direction so as to reach the certain conductivity-type semiconductor layer 3, and an electrode is provided in the exposed part of the certain conductivity-type semiconductor layer 3 and a part of the reverse conductivity-type semiconductor region 5 which confronts the exposed part, being connected to them respectively. |
