PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently culturing Pseudomonas bacteria having the ability to stably degrade TCE. SOLUTION: This method comprises culturing Pseudomonas bacteria having the ability to degrade trichloroethylene (TCE); specifically, the method is as follows: Pseudomonas bacteria is subjected to preculture at 10-40 deg.C using a culture fluid at pH 5-9 with an initial toluene concentration of 100-400 mg/L containing at least a phosphorus source, nitrogen source, calcium, magnesium and iron; wherein it is preferable that the preculture is carried out by repeating batch cultures twice to seven times.
