PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly form a thin layer of toner by the use of a toner layer regulating member having a proper curvature. SOLUTION: The substrate 5a of the toner layer regulating member 5 has a rectangular cross-section and angular ridge parts L. The circumference of the substrate 5a is covered with a cover part, 5b' shrunken of a heat shrinkable tube. In the corner parts (covered ridge parts) of the toner layer regulating member 5, the proper curvatures are almost uniformly formed over the entire length by the uniform thickness and surface continuity of the heat shrinkable tube. Then, the corner parts are used as a contact part with a toner carrier, to make the toner a uniform thin layer. |
