The invention relates to the ability to use a remote control device which emits audio, such as ultrasonic, or light, such as infrared, signals to change the condition of electrical apparatus such as a television broadcast signal receiver when the remote control device is itself out of range of the apparatus and in one embodiment by using existing connecting means between the apparatus and another piece of apparatus, typically in the vicinity of the remote control device, to carry the remote control signal or a signal representing the same, to the electrical apparatus whose condition is to be changed. |
