<p>An emulsion for use in covering plastic material such as polyolefin and possessing satisfactory applicability and adhesion onto polyolefin material, excellent compatibility with other resins such as an acrylic resin and a high storage stability, and a process for preparing the same. The emulsion comprises a styrene/acrylic/acid-modified chlorinated polyolefin comprising (1) a portion of a chlorinated polyolefin structure, (2) a portion of an acid anhydride and/or a carboxylic acid structure bonded to the portion (1), and (3) a portion comprising a styrene-acrylic polymer chain bonded to the portion (2) while leaving a part of the acid anhydride group and/or the carboxylic acid group in the portion (2), the proportion of the portion (2) relative to the total of the portions (1) and (2) being 1 to 10 % by weight; an emulsifier; a basic material comprising at least either an amine compound or ammonia; and water. The process for preparing the emulsion comprises the steps of preparing a suspension comprising raw materials of the emulsion and reacting the raw materials.</p> |
