<p>A gas nozzle (42, 42') for a gas assisted injection molding system (10) includes a body having an inlet (56) in fluid communication with a source of pressurized gas, an outlet (58) through which gas leaves the nozzle (42, 42') and a passage (57) extending between the inlet (56) and the outlet (58). The outlet (58) includes a plurality of apertures wherein at least some of the plurality of apertures (81) have a rectangular shape arranged such that the longitudinal axis of consecutive rectangular shaped apertures (81) are parallel to one another and such that the flow path through the outlet (58) approximates a 1/8 inch hole but does not clog with resin over successive plastic injections into the mold.</p> |
