<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost and the heat generation by making a torque sensor have a configuration wherein torque is detected based on a transient voltage being generated between a coil and an electric resistance when a voltage having square waveform is supplied to the coil. SOLUTION: An input shaft 2 and an output shaft 3 arranged coaxially while being coupled through a torsion bar 102 are supported rotatably. The input shaft 2 is secured integrally in the rotational direction with a tubular member 104 while surrounding the outer circumferential surface of the output shaft 3. An axial groove 3B is made in the part of the output shaft 3 surrounded by the tubular member 104 which is provided with windows 104a, 104b such that the superposition on the groove 3B is varied depending on the relative position to the output shaft 3. The tubular member 104 is surrounded by a yoke 112 applied with coils 110, 111 surrounding the windows 104a, 104b. An electric resistance is arranged in series with the coils 110, 111 and a torque to be generated on a rotary shaft 23 is detected based on a transient voltage being across the electric resistor upon application of a voltage having square waveform.</p> |
