PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user authenticating system, a host computer, a terminal device, an authentication code generating method, and a recording medium which does not give any serious trouble to a user even when the password of the user is known to another person. SOLUTION: When a password request is made from a host computer, a new password (user authentication code) is generated by synthesizing the password of a user inputted from a key-inputting means 2 with the unique code of each terminal device stored in an identification code storing means 5 and sent to the host computer. The host computer authenticates the user by using the new synthesized password. Therefore, even when the password of the user is known to another person, no serious trouble is given to the user, because the host computer is not able to be accessed by using the password only. |
