<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a chip resistor excellent in high voltage resistance and having small error to the required resistance. SOLUTION: The resistor comprises a resistor 2 and an electrode 3 formed on a substrate 1, a groove 4 formed on the resistor 2 by laser, and the groove 4 comprising a first groove 4a, a second groove 4b, and a third groove 4c. The first groove 4a extends in a direction approximately vertical to a current direction of the resistor 2 and one of its ends reaches an edge of the resistor 2. The second groove 4b extends in a direction approximately parallel to the current direction of the resistor 2 and one of the ends reaches the other end of the first groove 4a. One of the ends of the third groove 4c reaches approximately center of the second groove 4b and the other end of the third groove 4c reaches the groove 4a side of the point P which is a cross point between the edge of the resistor and the line extended from the end of the second groove 4b in a direction vertical to the second groove 4b and reaches the edge of the resistor 2.</p> |
