摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a power factor control device for a power plant which is capable of controlling the power factor of power output to a constant level without increasing the cost. SOLUTION: A plurality of power generation units 20a to 20n, each comprising an induction generator 1 and a phase advance capacitor 4 connected to the output line of the induction generator 1 via an electromagnetic switch 3, are provided parallel to a load system line L. A power factor control circuit, comprising a power-factor meter 7, which detects total power factor pft based on the total power output from a plurality of the power generation units, and a programmable logic controller 14, which generates a control signal Ct for the electromagnetic switch 3 based on the total power factor pft, is provided on the load system line L. The programmable logic controller 14 increases the number of the phase advance capacitors 4 to be connected to the output line as the total power output decreases, so that the total power factor is controlled to a constant level against the total power output within a given range.
