The colour balance of the lamp is monitored and stored in the processor as is the standard colour balance transmitted through a reference negative. The processor corrects for the colour balance deviating from this standard and provides corrected prints for subsequent negatives. The user is able to preset mode of exposure to suit the type of prints used, e.g. Winter scenes, and the processor provides corrected prints irrespective of the colour balance of the lamp. To ensure a constant throughput in commercial processing the lamp illumination can be set to balance the range of exposure conditions, e.g. from dimly-lit interior scenes to summer holidays on the beach.
