PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure sufficient ground whiteness and preservation stability at coloring part by employing at least one kind of fluoran compound as a coloring agent and at least one kind selected from a specified salicyclic acid derivative or a metal salt as a developer for producing a thermal recording material. SOLUTION: At least one kind of fluoran compound shown by formula I (where, R1 , R2 represents an alkyl group of 1-8C, independently) is employed as a sensitizer, and at least one kind selected from a salicylic acid derivative or a metal salt thereof shown by formulas II-IV (where, X<1> -X<4> , Y represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, a halogen atom, or the like, R<3> represents an aryl group, an alkenyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, Ar<2> represents a phenyl group which may have a substituent, a naphthyl group or a heterocyclic aromatic group, Z<1> , Z<2> represents an ether bond or a sulfonyl bond, R<4> , R<5> represents an ether bond, an ester bond, an amido bond, a branch or straight-chain alkylene group which may have a substituent, an aralkylene group or an arlene group, m is an integer of 1-3 and n is an integer of 1-4) is employed as a developer. |
