PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst capable of increasing the production of a medium fraction while suppressing the production of hydrogen and coke at the time of catalytic cracking of hydrocarbon oil. SOLUTION: A crystalline aluminosilicate having a ratio silica/alumina of 5-15, 24.30-24.55Åunit lattice size, a molar ratio (Al in the zeolite skeleton)/(total Al) of 0.2-0.9, 0.02-2 wt.% (expressed in terms of oxide) alkali metal content, 0.5-20 mass % ignition loss and the principal X-ray diffraction pattern of Y zeolite is mixed with an alumina sol, a silica sol and a clay mineral to obtain the objective catalyst.
