PRODUCTION OF HYDROXYALKANOIC ACID COPOLYMER

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract the subject polymer without a halogen-based organic solvent by adding an organic solvent to wet cells of microbes having productivity of hydroxyalkanoic acid copolymer consisting of 3-hydroxybutyric acid units and 4-hydroxybutyric acid units. SOLUTION: This polymer is obtained by adding an organic solvent to wet cells of a microbe, e.g. Comamonas acidovorans IFO13582, having productivity of hydroxyalkanoic acid copolymer consisting of 3-hydroxybutyric acid unit expresse by OCH(CH3 )CH2 CO and 4-hydroxybutyric acid unit expressed by OCH2 CH2 CH2 CO followed by extracting and separating the aforementioned hydroxyalkanoic acid copolymer accumulated in the microbe cells and is being paid attention as biodegradable plastic materials.
