IMPROVEMENTS IN TYRE MANUFACTURE

Apparatus for manufacturing fabric particularly the manufacture of radial tyre carcass reinforcement fabric is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a body having a pair of parallel and axially rotatable spindles (42), each spindle having a helical channel for training cord therealong, a housing (32) mounted on the body and rotatable therewith about an axis of rotation parallel with the spindles (42). The housing comprises a dispensing arm (36) for winding cord around said spindles and cord delivery means (38) for delivering cord to said dispensing arm. The delivery means (38) comprises a mounting (46) for receiving a bundle of cord and means (50) defining a cord delivery route between the mounting and the dispensing arm, said delivery means being radially spaced from the axis of rotation.
