The connecting element connects two long strips (10,22), each with two connecting (12) and wall (14) sides. There is a groove (24) in one of the strips with flange (30). The first strip (10) has an endface (16) fixed at an angle to the connection side (12) of the second strip (22). The first strip has an endface recess (18). The connecting element (60), fitted in a groove-like recess (34) between the flanges of the second strip, fits in this recess, forming a positive connection with the recess (18). A sealing filler (54) may be used between the connecting element and the flange of the second strip.
