METHOD FOR DETECTING TURNING FINGERPRINT IMPRESSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detects an entire fingerprint with a simple operation by performing processing such as detecting the position of a characteristic point of a fingerprint image from frame data and rewriting image data of an area corresponding to a synthetic area that is acquired by synthesizing frame data inputted before the frame data is inputted into image data extracted by an image cutting means. SOLUTION: An image inputting means inputs a fingerprint image of a finger that is turned and imprinted in a frame unit. A vertical peak point detecting part 7 detects the position of a characteristic point of the fingerprint image from frame data. A finger turning direction discriminating part 8 decides an area that is extracted for synthesization in accordance with the position of the characteristic point. An image cutting part 10 extracts image data of decided synthetic area from frame data. An image synthesizing means 11 rewrites image data in an area that corresponds to a synthetic area which is acquired by synthesizing frame data inputted before the frame data is inputted into image data that is extracted by the part 10.
