摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively control a dimming or a shielding function by filling between a pair of electrodes with an aquatic composite being composed of polysaccharide or its derivative, electrolyte, and water solvent and having a cloudy point. SOLUTION: An aquatic composition composed of polysaccharide or its derivative, electrolyte, and water solvent is filled between a pair of electrodes of a shielding element. This aquatic composition has a cloudy point. It is possible to make a transparent aquatic composite (transparent solution) nebulous or make a nebulous aquatic composite clear by applying an electric field to the aquatic composite according to the composition and use temperature of the aquatic composite. Light is shielded or dimmed by making the aquatic composite clear or nebulous by the electric field effect on the aquatic composite. Here, the cloudy point means a temperature corresponding to an absorbance of 0.4 in a temperature/absorbance curve obtained from measurement of the absorbance of a specimen by filling the specimen between transparent glasses (a gap = 200μm), heating the specimen at a temperature rising rate of about 1 deg.C/min and transmitting 700 nm wavelength light vertically to the glass surface.
