<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detector which requires no light-intercepting means for dirtiness discrimination of a translucent member separately from a light-intercepting means for object detection. SOLUTION: An object detector O irradiates a laser beam to an area to be detected through a translucent member 18 from an irradiating means 11, and intercepts a reflected laser beam from an object by a light-intercepting means 13 for object detection through the translucent member 18. A reference object is detected based on the light-intercepting output of the light-intercepting means 13 for object detection, and the dirtiness of the translucent member 18 is discriminated based on a relation between a distance and intercepting amount in the detected reference object.</p> |
