PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the execution of a density control action when an image is continuously formed by executing the density control action regardless of a prescribed command when the number of formed visible images reaches the second prescribed number. SOLUTION: When the command for executing the density control action is not issued from a printer controller 200 though an advance notice status for executing the density control action is informed to the controller 200 so as to promote the execution of the density control action, a continuous printing action P1 is forcibly interrupted and the density control action is executed by a printer engine 220 when the number of printed sheets reaches the prescribed number. While the density control action is executed, a status for executing the density control action is set. When the command for executing a density measuring action is issued from the controller 200 while the status for executing the density control action is set, the density measuring action is executed continuously after the density control action by the engine 200 and the status for executing the density measuring action is set even while the density measuring action is executed. |
