Vibration absorber for damping and diversion of structure-borne vibrations in rail vehicles

Low and high-frequency structure-borne vibrations are damped, checked and diverted by a vibration absorber comprising a one, two or three-dimensional wave guide for flexural, longitudinal, transverse or torsional waves, with a force and moment locked fastening to the structure via two or more contacts. Quincke diversions are realised by means of point impedances and mutual spacing of contacts, moment impedances and wave travel paths and phase velocities in the waveguide. Preferably a bilaterally acting vibration absorber (30) is connected with two contacts (32, 33) between the wheel rim (37) and the wheel disc (38) of a railway wheel or can be mounted on a railway rail.
