Liq. droplet printer with electrically heated nozzles
摘要
The liq. droplet printer incorporates a number of nozzles (12) arranged in a straight line (17). Back nozzle has an individually controlled resistance heater (13) situated a short distance upstream of the nozzle end. Pulses of electric current may be applied to these heaters to boil the ink and eject a drop of ink from the end of the nozzle. The drops of ink bond on a sheet of paper being scanned past the nozzles. During periods when no droplets are being ejected, i.e. when there is no paper or the paper is to be left white, an HF signal may be applied to the heaters, to keep the ink in the nozzles warm. There may be a main tank for the ink with feed (1) and return (3) lines leading to a secondary storage tank (2); from which the ink passes via a feed tube (4) to the nozzles.
