The heating system has a mixing chamber (6) that communicates with the outlets for de-misting, mid-level warming and warming of the feet of occupants. The mixing chamber is supplied with fresh air through an inlet opening to the outside of the vehicle (2) and by air from a heating chamber (3) which warms fresh air entering from the outside. The incoming fresh air is divided between these two streams by a vane (10), which carries a heated air conduit (19) that collects part of the air emerging (4) from the heating chamber and delivers it to an outlet directed toward the mixing chamber. The position of this outlet depends on the position of the vane.
