The high frequency detector is designed in the form of a BNC plug (1) with at least one contact pin (3) and a high frequency detector circuit (9) mounted on a circuit board (5). The circuit board is mounted directly in the plug casing and is connected to the contact pin. The contact pin may be directly soldered to the circuit board or connected using a cable. The circuit board is inserted into the casing from the rear and preferably contacts an internal shoulder or wall of the casing or of an intermediate component.
