The raised or convex sections of one roller interacting with the recesses of the other roller are in the form of rods (10) partially embedded in the surface and made of a non-metallic mechanically resistant material. The hard material consists of the ceramics used in the glass industry for the lining of ash furnaces. The rods are fixed by adhesion in roller bores.
