The method involves using three symbol carrying discs (3) that are rotated and stopped in a pseudo random cycle to present a symbol combination in windows (4). Seven segment displays (5,6) give win totals. Vertical displays (8) provide different win amounts and jackpot values (11) and these are used with selector inputs (13) to increase the level of risk taken. Memory lights are allocated to the displays forming the jackpot. A control unit checks the level of each jackpot. When a preset level is reached, the control unit monitors the operation of the selector input. The light unit of the following display field is activated when the selector input is operated and the assigned winning is added to the credit and th jackpot is set back to a preset start value.
