The electric toothbrush has a handle housing for the reception of a drive unit and with a brush body (1), which has a brush head (5). A tilting element facilitates a tilting movement of the brush head, where the tilting joint is formed by a flexible bending section (3). The flexible bending section is formed by a recess (2) in the brush body. The recess allows movement around a horizontal and vertical axis, as well as rotation about the longitudinal axis.
