PURPOSE:To obtain color recording wherein the preciseness of the adhesion position of the ink droplet to recording paper is high, by emitting ink droplets different in a weight by changing the amplitude of the input pulse to a pressure generating means and adjusting emitting timing corresponding to a gradation signal. CONSTITUTION:A printing command is transmitted to an operation circuit 13 as a printing signal 11 and a gradation signal 12. The operation circuit 13 calculates a delay time and pulse amplitude on the basis of the received gradation signal and outputs the calculation result to a delay circuit 14. The elapse of the inputted delay time is waited in the delay circuit 14 and, after the elapse of said delay time, amplitude is outputted to a drive circuit 15. The drive circuit 15 operates a pressure generating means 18 at the voltage based on the inputted pulse amplitude. Regardless of the distance from an ink emitting surface to recording paper and the magnitude of the moving speed of a color ink jet head, an ink droplet can be adhered to the recording paper at a desired position easily and accurately and color recording wherein gradation is sharply expressed is obtained. |
