<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject novel compound that shows selective herbicidal activity in some kinds of crop plants, for example, corn and rice plant with increased soil disintegration. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I (A is an aryl which may be substituted, difluorobenzodioxolyl; R" is phenyl or thienyl which may be substituted; R is a halogen, an alkyl, alkenyl which may be substituted; X is O atom, S atom), for example, (3,5-difluoro-4-methyl-2-(1'-methyl-3'- trifluoromethylpyrazol-5'-yloxy)-6-(4"-tri-fluoromethylphenyl)pyridine. The compound of formula I is prepared by the cross-coupling reaction between a compound of formula II (L is an eliminating group) and a compound of formula III (M is Li, Mg, Zn). The compound of formula I has the effect of c inhibiting the growth of an undesired plant by brining the compound into contact with the plant.</p> |
