The compact motor and control drive has a control, located in a suitable housing, placed on the motor (1). Cooling surfaces for the control module extend out of the control module housing. The motor has cooling surfaces (9) formed from the plate sections of the stator packet (2). A carrier module (5) is provided. This carries the control module and also acts as a conduction system for a flow of cool air (8). The cool air stream (8) flows through the cool surfaces (6) of the control module parallel to the longitudinal axis of the compact drive and flows through the cool surfaces (9) perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the motor. The carrier module (5) is closed at the back of the motor.
