An element (22) for use in a load bearing component is provided. The element (22) comprises web (14) bent to zig-zag form along a plurality of transversed bend lines. It further comprises a series of flanges (16) on each side of the web (14). Each flange (16) has a free edge (18) which is constituted by a curve and each being joined to said web (14) along a curved line. Each flange (16) is widest at its center and tapers progressively from its centre towards both ends thereof. The web (14) is bounded by said curved portions where said flanges (16) are at their narrowest. A method of fabricating an element for use in a load bearing component is also provided. Furthermore, a method of building is provided. |
