Production of polymer-modified bitumen from used elastomers and distillate bitumen

Production of polymer-modified bitumen from distillate bitumen (mixture) and blown bitumen, and 1-15 wt.% used elastomers comprises crushing production waste in a mill (1) under water to a particle size of at most 5 x 5 mm and transferring to a water trough (2). The used elastomers are fed to a post separator (4) and to a balance (5) and from there via a band conveyor (6) directly to the funnels of at least two turbine stirrers into one or more vessels (10) filled with heated bitumen. The bitumen-polymer mixture is conveyed to one or more intermediate storage tanks (12) and post homogenised, and then sending for shipment (14).
