Covering for transparent motor vehicle roof

The roof (12) has a shutter panel (24) which is reeled on a roller (22) mounted on an axis on the vehicle body work to selectively open and close off the transparent roof. The free end of the panel has a draw bar (28). The draw bar moves in guides rails (18) to retract and deploy the cover over at least part of its length. A ramp catch (36) is provided to hold the extended cover in place. The vehicle roof can have a support frame (16) and an opening (14) with the cover guide rails attached to the frame.
