PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a display with reality feeling and without sensual and conceptual sense of incongruity by getting a difference between a display color of a decided specified region and the display color of the regions excepting the specified region and coloring according to a height above sea in the display color. SOLUTION: A car's own position detecting signal 3 an a traveling state confirming signal 4 are inputted to a main control part 2, and a present car's own position is obtained. Information of topography and roads, etc., in the vicinity of the car's own position are read in from a recording medium 7 through a data read-out device 6, and further, the data for deciding the specified region such as the classification of land category such as a park, a green tract of land, municipalities, special institutions and residential quarters are read in. The specified region is decided based on these information, and a color scheme table based on height above sea recording/preserving the display color for the specified region are read in from the medium 7, and a color table answering to the height above sea of the display color different from the display color of the specified region is read in related to the regions excepting the specified region. Then, the map information is plotted on a screen of a display means 1 while making a difference between the display color of the decided specified region and the display color of the regions excepting it. |
