PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the electric conductivity and stability of oxidation by composing an electrolyte of an quaternary onium salt having a specified anion and an organic solvent thereby enhancing attraction of electron and the degree of dissociation of ion. SOLUTION: An electrolyte is composed of an organic solvent and a quaternary onium salt having an anion represented by formula I or II (in the formula, R<1> and R<2> are monovalent organic groups of 1-4C containing fluorine and may be identical to or different from each other, and R<3> is a bivalent organic group of 2-8C containing fluorine). The cation in a solute is a quaternary onium ion represented, especially, by (NR<4> R<5> R<6> R<7> )<+> or (PR<4> R<5> R<6> R<7> )<+> (where, R<4> , R<5> , R<6> and R<7> are alkyl groups of 1-5C which may be identical to or different from each other). Consequently, the internal resistance can be decreased and a high working voltage can be used. |
