PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the unpleasant feeling of an observer caused by a flicker or the like when the eyes of a human being can not follow up an observation image when an examinee is moved at a high speed. SOLUTION: This focusing device is constituted so that focusing action is executed based on the reflected light obtained when the examinee 7 is irradiated with measurement light through an objective lens 5. Besides, it is provided with a moving speed detector 20 detecting the moving speed of the examinee 7 in a horizontal direction and discriminating whether the moving speed is equal to or over a threshold value or not and a focusing discriminating unit 21 receiving the discriminated result of the detector 20, executing the focusing action by transmitting a displacement signal outputted from a signal processing system 15 to a driving unit 8 when the moving speed of the examinee 7 in the horizontal direction is equal to or under the threshold value and stopping the focusing action by inhibiting the transmission of the displacement signal outputted from the processing system 15 to the unit 8 when the moving speed of the examinee 7 in the horizontal direction is equal to or over the threshold value. |
