The container has a first section (3) for holding the documents (2), and a second, opening section (4) with systems for destroying the documents in the event of unauthorised tampering, e.g. by shredding, perforating or spraying with indelible dye. The dye is contained in one or two fragmenting ampoules (8), e.g. of glass, exploded by a parallel cord fuse (7) with an electric detonator controlled by an electronic box. The ampoules can have fragmentation lines, and a deflector panel (10) inside the container directs the fragments towards the documents. Protecting documents such as banknotes, cheque books or credit cards. More effective protection.
