PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact developing device constituted so that developer is carried extending over the whole area of the developing device in a longitudinal direction and the necessary and sufficient quantity of developer in a developer carrying part is stably supplied to a developer supply member and a developer carrier. SOLUTION: This developing device is provided with a case 21c having an opening 21a, the developer carrier 23c arranged in the case 21c so that one part thereof is exposed from the opening 21a, the developer supply member 25c supplying the developer T to the carrier 23C and a developer carrying member 21C carrying the developer T to the supply member 25C and the carrier 23C in the shaft length direction with respect to an electrostatic latent image carrier 1. The carrying member 27C is the rotary body and the rotating direction thereof is set so that the developer carried at a vertically lower part from the rotation center of the carrying member 27C is moved in the direction of the supply member 25C. |
