A method for correcting the values measured by a force measuring device for the effects of a deviation from a straight line linearity due to hysteresis, between values of loads comprised between a minimum load and maximum load (NMax) applied thereto, with a given load progression history including values of loads comprised between said minimum load and said maximum load, comprises the steps of determining the value (IMax) of a maximum deviation from said straight line linearity; obtaining a linearity curve (Qc; QD) comprised between a known value of load (Xn-1) and one of said maximum and minimum values of load, said known value (Xn-1) of load being comprised between said maximum and minimum values of loads; obtaining a correction value (NC) of a measured value (NR) of load which is subsequent to said known value (Xn-1) in said given load progression history, said correction value being obtained on the basis of said linearity curve (Qc; QD) and said value (IMax) of a maximum deviation from linearity and adjusting said measured value (NR) using said correction value (NC), in order to obtain a corrected value (NCR) of the load measured.
