PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction and improve reliability by installing a wedge detecting device comprising a hollow chamber and a switch device in the end part of a remote controlled power operated door, thereby instantaneously stopping a power supply when a thing is caught in the door. SOLUTION: A wedge detecting device also serving as a sealing element 14, which comprises an anti-friction coat 2, a skin layer having a drop type edge part, a hollow chamber 3 and a switch element 10 is installed in the peripheral end part of a motor-driven door or a slide roof of a bus, an electric car, a lift or the like. When an obstacle is caught between a closing end part 1 and the sealing member 14 in the door closing process, the hollow chamber 3 of the sealing element 14 is deformed so that the forward end of the base area 16 presses a switch element. According to the thus generated signal, a driving source such as a motor or the like is instantaneously stopped and/or reversed to remove the obstacle. The similar sealing element 14 is installed also in the rear of the door, whereby also in the door opening process, an obstacle can be prevented from being caught in the door. Thus, reliability of wedge detection can be improved. |
