PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good absorption property of ink, water resistance, and the durability of images by forming on the base material a dye fixture layer consisting mainly of an interlayer compound and binder for fixing and holding water soluble resin by an intercalation reaction, and containing organic anion and a polyvinylalcohol resin binder. SOLUTION: The recording medium has a dye fixture layer 1 consisting mainly of an interlayer compound, an organic anion, and a binder formed on the base material 2. The interlayer compound fixes and holds a water soluble dye in ink on the dye fixture layer 1 through an intercalation reaction. For an anion exchange layer compound having a changeable anion between layers, the mineral of a stratified hydrotalcite group comprising an AlO6 octahedral sheet is suitable. Also, the interlayer compound is desirably contained relative to solid matter in the dye fixture layer 1, or since the binder contains polyvinylalcohol resin, it permits the interlayer compound to disperse sufficiently, and also render the coated film insoluble without causing the deterioration of ink absorption. |
