A vertical fluidised bed gas phase polymerisation reactor has a quiescent chamber (3) located above a chamber (1) equipped with a bottom fluidising grating (4), this latter chamber (1) having a conical shape with an internal diameter gradually decreasing from its bottom to its top so as to form a slope of 0.05-5% between the vertical axis of revolution of the cone and the cone wall. Also claimed is a gas phase polymerisation process carried out in the above reactor. |
