PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase polarized light transmissivity and saturation, to improve heat resistance and to form a pattern without using an org. solvent by using a material for the red of a color filter consisting of specified repeating units. SOLUTION: This material for the red of a color filter consists of repeating units represented by formula I, wherein A and A' are groups of formulae II-IV, etc., they are the same or different, B is a group of one of formulae V, VI, etc., Z is the residue of a red pigment having at least one hydroxyl group in the structure but not having an amino group, m:n is 10:90 to 90:10 and 50<=m+n<=1,000. This material has high polarized light transmissivity and high saturation, is excellent in heat resistance and can form a pattern without using an org. solvent. |
