PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal wheel with which can a new string cable smoothly over an already existing obstacle by preventing the new cable from contacting the obstacle without requiring any high-altitude work. SOLUTION: A metal wheel device is constituted of a main body frame 10 attached to an already existing cable 50 and a supporting matter which supports the frame 10 attached to the already existing cable 50 on the ground and the frame 10 is provided with a metal wheel section 12 through which a new cable 52 is passed and an engaging section 14 for attaching the frame 10 to the already existing cable 50. The metal wheel section 12 is provided in the frame 10 so that the section 12 may be positioned on the already existing cable 509 when the frame 10 is attached to the cable 50.
