Electrically operated pressure-modulating valve

The pressure modulating valve has a magnetic circuit and a pneumatic system separated from each other. The magnetic circuit has various gaps (5) in which there is no good magnetic conductor, causing flux separation in the whole circuit along which the magnetic flux must pass. The force-intensity curve obtained is a substantially straight line. Regulation (6) in this magnetic circuit is accomplished by reducing the gap between the fixed core (2) and the moving core (4) by means of a screw-thread on the fixed core. The moving core is formed from a material with poor magnetic conductivity and is able to cause a further saturation in the circuit so that when the moving core is attracted by the fixed core it butts against a separator (7) made of an amagnetic material.
