A wheelchair (7) is lifted and transported using a device (1) containing a wheel-mounted motor (6), and also including two grip sections (3) with a U-shaped cross-section profile. Openings in the grip sections facing in opposite directions are engaged with vertical shafts in the wheelchair. At least one lifting arm (4) protrudes outwards from the grip sections behind the wheelchair. - A lifting beam (5) at the far end of the lifting arm is received by one or more vertically movable lifting brackets (6.2) in the motor. Preferably the grip sections are located at either end of a telescopic lifting beam (2). The lifting arm extends between the two lifting beams. |
