PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve both braking performance and driving performance on ice. SOLUTION: In this pneumatic tire for icy road, a tread face 1 is provided with main grooves 2 extended in the circumferential direction T of a tire, and lateral grooves 3 extended in the cross direction of the tire are arranged at specified pitches in the circumferential direction of the tire so as to partition a large number of blocks 4 by the main grooves 2 and lateral grooves 3. A plurality of sipes 5 extended in the cross direction of the tire are provided in the same block 4. The sipes 5 are so arranged that the slit directions are inclined in relation to the normal direction of the block surface 4a and that the inclined directions are alternately retrorse to the normal direction of the block surface 4a, and the inclination α is in a range of 5-15 deg.. |
