<p>There is provided a method for the preparation of 2-aryl-5- -trifluoromethyl pyrrole compounds of the general formula (I) wherein A is hydrogen or an alkylgroup containing 1-6 carbons which is, optionally, substituted by a phenylgroup; W is a cyanogroup, nitrogroup, or a group of the general formula CO2R1 or SO2R1; X is hydrogen or a group of the general formula CO2R2; the rest of the symbols carry the meaning as described in the Claims. Halogenenamine of the general formula (II)-in which Y denotes chlorine, bromine or iodine and A, W, L, M and R have their meanings described in the Claims-reacts with a molar trifluoroacetone equivalent or alkyltrifluoroacetoacetate with 1-4 carbons in the alkyl residual in the presence of an acid, preferably in the presence of a solvent. Gained compounds are useful as insecticidal, acaricidal and nematicidal agents and as intermediates in the manufacture of said agents.</p> |
